ENCY 3.0 Is Here: Smarter Toolpaths, AI Assistance and a More Connected CAM Workflow

On September 14, 2026, ENCY Software released ENCY 3.0, ENCY Robot 3.0 and ENCY Tuner 3.0. The release was first shown at the ENCY World 2026 conference in Limassol, Cyprus, and it is now available to users. It covers machining strategies, robot programming, AI assistance and cloud collaboration. Here are the main features.

Tool Assemblies: Machining with Realistic Tooling

Tooling in ENCY 3.0 is built around Tool Assemblies, which combine holders, adapters and cutting components. You can build and edit them in 3D, in the context of the part and machine. The real assembly geometry is used for simulation and collision checking, so what you simulate matches what goes on the machine.

What is ENCY?

ENCY Software is a European developer of CAD/CAM/OLP solutions for automating CNC machine and industrial robot programming, based in Limassol, Cyprus. Its product line includes ENCY (CAD/CAM), ENCY Robot (offline robot programming) and ENCY Tuner (a shop-floor G-code simulator and editor).

ENCY 3.0 was introduced at the ENCY World Conference 2026 in Limassol, Cyprus, with the CEO, Andrei Kharatsidi, presenting it. It is also set for a U.S. premiere at IMTS 2026 in Chicago, September 14–19.

Key Features

1. CAM Automation with a New Macros Engine

This is the headline feature. The new macros engine lets users record and reuse actions inside the software, automate typical operations, and define editable parameters. You can build these workflows manually, through scripts, or with AI coding tools. If you set up the same operations on every job, you can now record them once and reuse them.

2. AI-Assisted CAM

ENCY 3.0 takes what the company describes as first steps toward more intelligent CAM. The assistance covers cost estimation, project troubleshooting, guided learning, feature recognition, and programming setup. In practice, users can find and fix errors faster, understand what caused them, and get guidance directly in the workflow. That should help newer programmers in particular, and it saves experienced one's time.

3. Realistic Tool Assembly System

A new tool assembly system lets you build and manage realistic tool assemblies with holders, adapters, cutting inserts, and other components. Accurate tool and holder geometry makes simulation more realistic and collision checking more reliable, so programmers can see what will happen on the machine before the program reaches the shop floor.

4. A More Connected Workflow (ENCY X)

Beyond individual features, the CEO described a workflow that connects CNC programming, robot programming, shop-floor verification, cloud collaboration, and AI-assisted workflows into the connected ENCY X environment. The idea is for programming, verification, and collaboration to happen in one ecosystem rather than in separate tools.

5. Stronger Robot Programming

ENCY Robot brings the production-proven toolpath engine used for CNC machines to robots from any manufacturer. It covers milling, cutting, trimming, polishing, grinding, and additive applications. It can also be paired with ENCY Hyper for real-time programming and adjustment, including cells where robots load and unload CNC machines.

New and Improved Machining Strategies

  • Combo Finish combines Plane, Waterline and Scallop strategies in one operation. Steep and shallow areas each get a suitable strategy. Smoother zone merging and connected passes cut down on unnecessary transitions, and parallel calculation speeds up toolpath generation.

  • Blade Machining is a dedicated operation for blade airfoils, root zones, hubs and edges.

  • Swarf has been reworked for five-axis flank milling.

  • Adaptive Tilting automatically adjusts tool tilt in two directions to avoid holder collisions, including on the linking moves between cutting passes.

  • The rebuilt Feeds & Speeds calculator works out cutting conditions from the tool, workpiece material and machining method. It can use data from Walter, Kennametal and Sandvik, or your own cutting-data libraries, and sends the results straight to the operation.

AI Working Alongside the Programmer

CAM Agent (Beta) works inside your open project. You can ask it, in plain language, to recognize machining features, select tools and cutting conditions, create operations, calculate toolpaths or troubleshoot a simulation issue. You stay in control of what it does.

For repetitive work, Macros let you record a sequence of actions, edit it, and apply it to similar projects.

ENCY Robot 3.0: Smart Motion

Smart Motion now calculates trajectories for 5D and 6D operations without a manually created axes map. It accounts for axis limits, collisions and singularities. You can still use the axes map to fine-tune the result.

Laser Cutting, Additive Manufacturing and Nesting

  • Laser cutting: ENCY automatically recognizes holes, slots and other standard contours, which reduces manual toolpath preparation. Recognized features can be edited and used to generate compact NC programs with machining cycles, where the postprocessor supports it.

  • Additive manufacturing: The new Radial Slicing strategy builds layers around an axis, suited to ring-shaped, partially open and helical parts. New controls for infill, power and layer time give finer control over deposition.

  • Nesting (ENCY Design): A new module arranges contours on sheet material using your spacing and rotation rules. It reduces layout time and material waste for laser, plasma, waterjet and oxy-fuel cutting.

Extension Store and Digital Machine Center

The ENCY Extension Store lets you find, install and update add-ons directly inside ENCY. Examples include CAM Agent (Beta) and Support Generator, which creates support fixtures from a part's 3D model and generates nesting layouts. Dealers and customers can build and share their own extensions using the ENCY API and the AI-based development toolkit.

The Digital Machine Center collects what you need to program and simulate a specific CNC machine: postprocessors, kinematic models, NC code interpreters and complete Machine Kits. You can search by machine, controller and component type, on the web or within ENCY. Full catalog access requires active maintenance, while trial licenses and licenses without maintenance get trial access.

ENCY Tuner 3.0 and ENCY Clouds

ENCY Tuner 3.0 supports multi-part and multi-channel simulation, and the interpreters for HEIDENHAIN iTNC 530 and FANUC 30i milling controls have been improved.

The web version of ENCY Clouds has a redesigned project viewer with panels for the model, tools, operations and machining parameters. Colleagues and technical support can discuss a machining task in the browser without opening the desktop application.

Who Is It For?

  • CNC shops that want to cut repetitive programming work and reduce collision risk.

  • Robot integrators who need offline trajectory calculation and simulation.

  • Machine tool builders who can offer ENCY as an OEM package with machine-specific digital twins, postprocessors, and workflows.

  • CAD/CAM dealers who can serve both CNC and robotics customers with one product family.

Final Thoughts

ENCY 3.0 is less about adding a few new toolpath options and more about reducing manual work through macros, AI assistance, and better simulation. If your team spends a lot of time on repetitive setups or on debugging programs before they reach the machine, it is worth a look. You can visit encycam.com for demos and pricing.
